Jayne was one of the first Credentialled Diabetes Educators to register to deliver Medicare reimbursed services in 2009, under the Enhanced Primary Care program. She has gone on to combine her knowledge of diabetes and skills, with considerable lived experience in disability care from Sarah's care, and the advocacy that was required to evolve understanding and systems for Sarah to access the services she required. The outcome has been the development of the Diabetes 4 Disability (D4D) online course for support workers and suite of support services, which have elevated Jayne's expertise. She is an acknowledged Australian specialist in diabetes care, education and support for people with an intellectual disability, acquired brain injury and/or psycho-social disability.

Jayne has created a strong infrastructure for her growing business and is establishing a benchmark for quality diabetes support services for people with a disability. Jayne is now updating the D4D course, taking it to a new level of interactivity to match the needs of its target audience, of which many have English as a second language. Further innovation is in the final phase with a D4D App soon to enable course participants to do the course on a Smart phone, tablet and/or computer.

Jayne's advice is highly sought after, with appointments to Advisory Boards/Committees advising state and Commonwealth governments around improving the health and support people with a disability require to live longer and healthier lives in Australia. Her input has been instrumental in updating the sub-cutaneous injection High Intensity Skills Descriptors (2022) with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Quality and Safety Commission.

ADMINISTRATION MANAGER - BREE REED

Bree started with EdHealth in 2020 after working as a Pharmacy Assistant in Victoria and South Australia for 12 years. Employed as an Administration Assistant, Bree and Jayne established a foundation to EdHealth that now employs administrative staff and sub-contracts work to clinical staff to address the growing demand for EdHealth's NDIS services.

Bree returned from Maternity Leave in 2023 to a new position of Administrative Services Manager. She supports the Administration Assistant, provides Jayne with Executive support and is further developing our business systems.

EdHealth's flexible work environment delivers Bree the opportunity to balance her work and family commitments, with her return to work after the birth of her little girl. Bree's lived experience of disability comes from managing her youngest son's NDIS Plan and coordinating his therapy and disability support, linked with his NDIS Plan.

LEAH COWIN - ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Leah learnt the EdHealth and NDIS administrative ropes while providing relief for Bree's Maternity Leave in 2022. Working 4 days a week, Lean provides EdHealth's administrative support. Leah is a pharmacy assistant, and continues to work one day a week in a southern pharmacy. She works mainly from home and is enjoying her improved work-life balance as Mum to a school age son and daughter.

Leah's lived experience comes from her relationship with her uncle, who had Down's Syndrome. She remembers him fondly, as a part of her family's activities together. He passed away some time ago, but Leah is excited to be in a role that enables her to help people similar to her uncle.

Leah enjoys using her skills in both health environments in which she works, and Jayne is thrilled to have a team member who, like Jayne, enjoys her coffee!
