Thanks for joining us, and welcome to your Diabetes 4 Disability (D4D) course. I’m Jayne Lehmann, Director of EdHealth Australia and creator of the D4D course. My intention is for the D4D course to reflect your reality. D4D has been completely updated with a flexible format to enable us to match D4D lessons to your client’s type of diabetes and the equipment and medication they use for their diabetes. Integrated into the lessons are lots of practical tips on setting yourself and your client up for diabetes success.

Click on the first lesson and work your way through the course. Further instructions are provided within the lessons, with Pop Questions and quizzes to check your knowledge as you go through the course.

Contact Group Leader when you finish all online lessons and arrange to:

  • Use the Practice Equipment Pack and procedures to practice the diabetes skills taught in lessons
  • Book to have your skills evaluated in an Online Skills Check.

The RN Diabetes Educator will:

  • Check your technique and talk to you about your client’s diabetes support needs.
  • Answers any questions you have from the D4D lessons, in the Online Skills Check.

Support is available during business hours: 9am-5pm (Australian Central Daylight Time). After hours and on weekends, send an email with your name, name of client and organisation), contact phone number, and tell us about the issue. We do our best to get back to you, out of hours. At times we will reply on the next business day.
