At times, there will be a need to provide an audio recording of the contents of the Diabetes Management Plan or as a part of an education/support strategy. Audio recordings increase the accessibility of information for some NDIS participants and their support workers.
For example, for people with/requiring:
- vision impairment where they are unable to read the plan
- support workers working with a client with English as a second language, more confident in their first language
- repetitive teaching/learning scripts to support capacity building for diabetes self-care
- an alternative strategy to gain the information from the DMP, unable to read or comprehend written language.
