Ensuring the quality and safety of diabetes support is an ongoing requirement for disability support organisations. There are times, when it is necessary to conduct a more formal diabetes knowledge check to identify the capacity of one or a group of support workers in relation to diabetes support.

  • Conduct a comprehensive review of current level of knowledge of a worker a year after their diabetes training
  • Evaluate knowledge in the wake of a diabetes support incident
  • Formally assess if concerns about an individual’s observed level of knowledge or skill
  • Provide knowledge evaluation when diabetes course does not provide this.
  • Evaluate knowledge achieved from non-EdHealth training with that taught in the Diabetes 4 Disability training, when considering a change in training used for the organisation.

Disability support organisations utilise EdHealth Australia’s expertise in diabetes support for people with a disability to formally evaluate the knowledge and skills of their support worker/s. We provide access to a quizz, or a number of quizzes from the Diabetes 4 Disability training modules so the support workers knowledge can be formally evaluated.

Diabetes skills are equally important when reviewing support worker capability. It is essential for medication administration, glucose monitoring and administration of emergency medication to be done safely. EdHealth can provide a skills review in an Online Skills Check, when organisations require this service.

Your knowledge check is done using the quizzes included in this course. Each quiz focuses on a different area of diabetes support. Start with the first and work your way through each quiz until they have all been completed.
